It's my humble opinion that a case could easily be made that the husband-and-wife doctor/humanitarian duo of Samantha Nutt and Eric Hoskins qualifies as the most awesome pair of Canadian physicians around. I mean 'awesome' mostly in the sense of awe-insipiring, but also a little bit in the colloquial sense: Dr Nutt and Dr Hoskins are truly amazing.
Drs Nutt and Hoskins are the two leaders of War Child Canada, which provides humanitarian and medical aid to children in war zones around the world, including such places Iraq, Sri Lanka and Darfur.
The pair of them are young -- both were named to The Globe and Mail's Top 40 Under 40 list -- and have already accomplished so much.
Their awards are too numerous to list here, but several notable ones include multiple honourary doctorates, mentions in Time magazine as top activists, Dr Hoskins's Order of Canada and his nomination as the federal Liberal Party candidate for the Ontario riding of Haldimand-Norfolk in the next election, against Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Diane Finley. (Need I remind you why you might want to vote for your doctor?)
I could go on and on about how great Dr Nutt and Dr Hoskins are, but I'll spare you my ramblings and instead urge you to read more about them.
